Manekseka Sangkum: 

In honour and respectful memory of the late Dr Kem Ley, as well as out of consideration for his relatives and family, this funeral procession planned for tomorrow should proceed as peaceful and dignified as possible. It is true that his sudden death and legacy have deeply touched and left the nation in mourning and sorrow, thus affirming and testifying as to his public dimension and relevance, perhaps, on a level and significance not witnessed in recent history. However, the dead, his loved ones, members of the public at large who wish to partake in the procession should be allowed to do so in peace and undisturbed by any untoward incidents and or over-regulation on the part of officialdom or local authorities. 

The procession must therefore be strictly apolitical, allowing everyone to be a part of the great man in terms of what he represents and means to them. To deny even this proposed peaceful march would therefore be both inhumane and un-Cambodian in the extreme. The public who are looking forward to accompanying Kem Ley for the last time; the very people he has risked all and lost his own precious life for, will have wanted nothing more than to walk beside him in solemn gratitude for his memory and prayer for his soul. That is all.
