PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- National Assembly President Heng Samrin is scheduled to pay an official four-day visit to Iran later this month, Tasnim News Agency reported Saturday.
The report said Heng Samrin would head a Cambodian delegation of lawmakers arriving in Tehran on August 23 at the invitation of Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.
"Cambodian parliamentarians will hold talks with Larijani and some other Iranian officials on issues of mutual interest, including ways to promote bilateral relations," the report said.
Under President Hassan Rouhani, the news agency noted that Iran's parliament had "intensified measures to strengthen ties with parliaments of the other countries."
"Delegations representing the European Parliament (EP), Italy, South Korea and many others have paid official visit's".
