PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Kem Sokha, vice president of the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party, will appear in Phnom Penh Municipal Court Friday, according to his defense lawyer Meng Sopheary.
Kem Sokha has been summoned to appear the court for questioning following violent clash at the Freedom Park on July 15 which led to the arrest of CNRP's seven lawmakers-elect and one activist.
The CNRP's lawmakers and activists were released on bail on July 22 when the CPP and CNRP reached political agreement after five-house face-to-face meeting between Prime Minister Hun Sen, Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha.
