PHNOM PENH (CEN) - Thai soldiers shot dead 15 Cambodians illegally entering Thai territory in 2011, ADHOC chief monitor Chan Soveth (pictured) said Tuesday.
According to an ADHOC survey, thousands of Cambodians entered Thailand to find jobs last year, including many who illegally entered the country to fell timber.
Foreign Minister Hor Nam Hong raised the issue with Thai counterpart Surapong Tovichakchaikul in Phnom Penh last week, asking Thailand not to shoot at Cambodians and instead deal with illegal immigrants through the legal system.
Surapong said he would inform the Thai army.
