PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - The construction project approvals for the whole year of 2011 reached $1.7 billion, according to a report of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction which was released Thursday.
The Cambodia's construction sector recovered with a total investment of $1.7 billion or 102 percent increased if compared to last year, the ministry said in its report.
According to the report, for the whole year, there are 2,129 construction projects were approved, less than 2,149 projects in 2010.
Sung Bunna, President of the Cambodian Real Estate Valuers Association said Foreign investors from Malaysia, South Korea, China, Vietnam and Japan contribute to the real estate grow.
The commercial activities in the country's real estate sector in 2012 are expected to grow by between 30 and 35 percent, he said.
